Jill is having a serious case of writer’s block. She contacts her friend, who had created her own online magazine, and Miranda gave her the idea to write an article about genealogy. In a happy coincident Jill had just received a subscription to an ancestry website from her mother. Jill starts digging into her own past and discovers that she is a descendant of Alfred J. Stout, who had rebuilt a town and named it Morgan’s Grove, after his daughter. Jill sets off for Morgan’s Grove and finds a room in Lucille’s house, since the B&B was already full. She meets Rick, Lucille’s grandson there.

Rick was having problems with his company and spends most of his time glued to his phone and laptop. Jill isn’t interested in a relationship, but she was drawn to Rick right from the start. Rick was not happy when he found out about Jill’s connection to the magazine, as he was trying very hard to stay out of the limelight.

Rick and Jill had a lot of issues to overcome during their slow developing romance. But I liked the two of them together. The town’s people were also great characters and I was glad when Jill became more part of the community there.

The starting idea of the story with Jill’s heritage really reeled me in, and it was interesting to read about everything she uncovered during her visit. But I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t more about her research into her roots.

This was a lovely cozy romance, and both Rick and Jill learned and changed a lot. I can definitely recommend it, and would love to read more in the series.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy. Any thoughts and opinions are my own.
