⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Was I hooked by that book? Absolutely. I always enjoy reading Jill Shalvis. This one was exceptional.

Lanie Jacob’s takes on a temporary job at the Capriotti Winery to get away from her problems and lick her wounds. She is surprised by the generosity of the family and to her consternation, falls in love with all of them. Lanie has to deal with some very unpleasant feelings when a pregnant River shows up and is also taken in by the Capriottis.

MY THOUGHTS

Mark Capriotti is the rock in this tale. He left his military career and moved back home to raise his twin daughters after his wife left suddenly. He and Lanie have some great chemistry between them, but it takes them a while to act on it. Both of them had been burned badly.

The entire Capriotti family is a treat. They were just the right combination of funny and serious and supportive. Lanie is the one who went through the biggest change. She had to confront her own feelings regarding her deceased husband, she had to learn how to accept the support and love from the people around her, and she had to learn to open her heart to Mark. River experienced many of the same emotions and her story of growth was very similar to Lanie’s.

The story drew me in and kept my attention. I was feeling quite emotional by the end of it. Would definitely recommend it.
