⭐⭐⭐⭐ Was I hooked by that book? Yes. This spy thriller was super fun and flirty.
Cybil Langford has spent years hiding behind her polished, professional facade as the executive assistant to a powerful real estate mogul, where she’s perfectly positioned to collect intel on her boss’s criminal network. But when her mission leads her into the path of Lorenzo Ramirez, a ruthless crime boss with deadly plans, she’ll need every ounce of cunning and charm to stay one step ahead.
MY THOUGHTS
Ben was all suave and put together (except when it came to Cybil), while Cybil constantly found herself in some kind of embarrassing situation. But, for all her clumsiness, she was also quite competent. They each thought the other to be a bad person working for bad people and that coloured their interactions. That, together with Cybil still carrying some resentment from their past made for some amusing interactions.
I really enjoyed this book, with its witty humour, unexpected twists, and the ever-present attraction simmering between these two intrepid spies. Ben’s grandmother was a hoot. And it’s always great when you can end a book with a smile.
If you like an action-packed romantic suspense on the light-hearted side, then this is for you. See what other readers are saying on Goodreads.
