⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Was I hooked by that book? Most definitely. It was thrilling and frustrating and satisfying. Another winner from one of my favourite authors.

BLURB

Eden is still hiding and suppressing and abusing its members. FBI Special Agent Tom Hunter is on the forefront of the search for the cult. There is a breakthrough when one of Eden’s newest members, Hayley, manages to send an email to her boyfriend on the outside.

Liza Barkley has loved Tom since the day she met him. They have been friends over the years, but now Liza wants more. Tom is forced to confront his feelings for her when she volunteers to go undercover as a nurse in an attempt to get close to Eden’s enigmatic and elusive leader.

MY THOUGHTS

Say Goodbye brings us full circle in this series. This thrilling (I’ll say it again) ride started with Tom’s mother and her escape from her abusive husband. And it brings us around to the hunky, nerdy Tom as an adult. I enjoyed the little glimpses we got of Caroline and Max.

I loved Tom. He’s super sassy, smart, and a little bit oblivious to some things around him. He is a dedicated agent and his biggest passion is bringing justice for his friends, Gideon and Mercy, who were victims of Eden themselves. Liza is a war hero. She is very loyal to her friends and to Tom. But her heartbreak is getting harder and harder to conceal.

I was listening to the song “I can’t fight this feeling anymore,” and I thought of Tom. It fits him to a tee. Tom and Liza were extremely frustrating and, I admit, at times it was hard to want to carry on after yet another failed communication between them.

I love Karen Rose and all her books. She creates villains that are complex and multi-faceted and oh, so evil. And this book had more than one that fit that bill. This entire series is well worth reading if you like romantic suspense. It is also worth it to start at the beginning. That way you won’t miss anything.
