⭐⭐⭐ Was I hooked by that book? Mostly, yes. Cullen and Tamlyn’s rocky courtship provided a lot of entertainment, but I was more interested in the overarching story and where that is going.

BLURB

Dragon Unbound is a novella that is part of the Dragon Kings series. Cullen is one of the unmated Dragon Kings that had travelled to the realm of Zora with Con to meet Con and Rhi’s twins and explore the new realm that the dragons now call home.

Tamlyn can hear the screams of the children marked for death by the priests and she risks life and limb every time she goes to save those children. She and her two friends are reluctant to let Cullen help them. Cullen swoops in anyway and joins Tamlyn on one of her rescue missions.

MY THOUGHTS

Reading it didn’t feel like a novella to me. Nothing was rushed or skipped to make this a complete story. Cullen and Tamlyn’s tale is part of a bigger picture of how things on Zora have developed over time. And we see that while Brandr and Eurwen kept a strict eye on the dragons and the border, they basically let the humans do their own thing. They realize that maybe it’s time for the Dragon Kings to take a greater interest in the human affairs.

It was lovely to see another Dragon King find his mate and to find out more about Zora. There are still a lot of unanswered questions and the mystery surrounding the dragons’ invisible enemy only deepens.

I can definitely recommend this entire series and the associated Dark Kings series. But it’s best to read them in order, as each book continues where the previous one left off.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Other books in the series that I’ve reviewed: Dragon Revealed and Dragon Mine.
