⭐⭐ Was I hooked by that book? Not so much. You’d think all the action happening in such a short time would be exciting, but it wasn’t, not really.

BLURB

Willa is a witch without a coven. She was expelled after she failed the Summer Solstice Rite. The city of Charleston, home to the vampires, welcomed her and her witchy bookstore. Her life floated along quietly and without any ripples, until one day some vampires tried to abduct her and her cries for help were heard by the Warden of Charleston. Killian had no idea why he could hear Willa’s voice in his head, but he intended to get to the bottom of it all. Together they set out to uncover all the mysteries.

MY THOUGHTS

What the Fang packs quite a lot of story into its shorter length. A lot of things are happening with almost no respite in between and not a lot of time to really get to know the characters. Willa fell in with Killian with no issues. And everything seemed to come easy to them too. There was always a handy explanation for what was going on, or a handy vampire in the vicinity with just the right skills to solve whatever needed to be solved. And everyone was so nice! Even the bad guys didn’t have me shivering in my boots or at least shaking my fist at them.

I’m sorry, but I just wasn’t that invested in Willa and Killian and I’m pretty sure I rolled my eyes quite a bit too.
