⭐⭐⭐⭐ Was I hooked by that book? Yes. Three Christmas novellas that all offered interesting characters and intriguing plots.

Great Scott by Suzanne Enoch

Jane Bansil traveled with the MacTaggerts to Scotland and met their cousin, Brennan. He is an architect designing a new house for Coll and his wife. For the first time Jane might have an option other than being a companion.

The MacTaggerts’ stories captivated me, and I loved seeing a bit more into their lives. Jane and Brennan were great together. A lot of times love happens a bit too fast in novellas out of necessity for the length of the story. This one worked for me for many reasons. Brennan and Jane are both older and they have experienced a lot. They know what they want. They are also both quiet and level-headed people and they don’t make decisions lightly. So, even though their romance happened very fast, it didn’t feel forced.

Christmas at Dewberry Hollow by Amelia Grey

Isabelle loves working at the inn that her mother owns. It’s her life and she has no desire to do anything else. She also doesn’t want to follow in her mother’s footsteps when it comes to falling in love. Until Gate arrived to assist his grandfather, the duke, in finding a heart carved into a tree somewhere in the woods surrounding the inn. What seems like an impossible task, becomes an excuse for Isabelle and Gate to spend time together.

The story managed to address both Gate’s and Isabelle’s issues with their lives and found a way for them to deal with it. All while they were falling in love. It didn’t feel rushed or forced.

My Mistletoe Beau by Anna Bennett

Jack caught Eva red-handed breaking into his home. She was trying to steal back her father’s watch. They entered into a fake relationship agreement to satisfy Jack’s grandmother.

These two were just so sweet and charming. I loved the crazy nicknames Jack used for Eva. The plot and their romance developed nicely, and I really enjoyed it.

SUMMARY

These three stories kept my interest. I really wanted to see how it all wrapped up.
