⭐⭐⭐⭐ Was I hooked by that book? Yes. This book takes us back to where it all started and truly ignites the magic that is this spell-binding series.

MY THOUGHTS

From the very first page this book was just pure magic. It felt almost like discovering the diary of your great-great-great… grandmother and living life through her eyes. Ailis had no idea what was waiting for her on the other side of that portal, but she embraced the adventure with everything in her. She took it all in stride, never cursing fate for the situation she was put in.

It was brilliant seeing where it all began, the first time a Dragon King shifted into human form. My heart just ached so much for the way Lennox and Ailis had to hide their love. But despite that, Lennox was still able to share his world with her in various ways.

The magic causing the first Kings to shift and the conflict between the clans are a portent of the battles the Dragon Kings still have ahead of them. The ending presents so much hope, despite the reader knowing what comes next for the dragons.

I can highly recommend this book and this entire series if you like dragons, magic, fae, and steamy romance. This book can be read on its own. It might have a bit more meaning if you’ve already read some of the Dragon Kings’ books.
