⭐⭐⭐ Was I hooked by that book? Sort of. Although Gia and Lawson were great together, I wasn’t completely invested in them.
BLURB
Gia finds herself in the spotlight after doing a favor for a friend. She also acquires a stalker in the process and Lawson is determined to keep her safe, but he is finding it harder and harder to keep her at arms’ length.
MY THOUGHTS
Guarding Her is book 18 in the Red Stone Security series. This is the only book in the series that I’ve read so far, and while this works well as a stand-alone, I do feel like I missed something. I had no idea who any of the other characters were and I think I might’ve had a better experience if I had read the previous books.
Gia and Lawson had great chemistry, but because of Lawson’s friendship with Gia’s brother, it took them a while to give in to the attraction. Ultimately, I was more interested and invested in what was going on between Carlos and Clarita, who weren’t the main focus of the book. I feel that diverted a lot of my attention away from Gia and Lawson. The short chapters from the stalker’s point of view added a bit more thrill to the story.
I enjoy Katie Reus’s books and I can recommend them if you like steamy romance with suspense. I think I’m going to tackle this series from the start.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I own a bunch of the beginning of this series. I haven’t read them all but enjoyed what I have.
Yeah, I’m gonna read this series from the start.
It’s hard for me to jump into the middle of a series, but sometimes it works out great.
