⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Was I hooked by that book? Absolutely. Xaneth’s passion for eradicating evil was only slightly eclipsed by his passion for Aisling.

Xaneth was driven by only one thing ever since he escaped the mental prison his aunt had trapped him in, to eradicate the most evil of all evil. Lena, the powerful leader of the Fae Others, was his main target. Aisling kept following Xaneth around, hoping to become his friend and help him. She was ready to give up on him when her fellow Reapers encouraged her to contact him one last time.

MY THOUGHTS

Aisling and Xaneth both had their own demons to battle, but they were a beacon of light for each other in all the darkness and evil, and they couldn’t stay away. Every moment between them was electric with anticipation. Lena continued to be a formidable adversary. But like she herself said, everyone has a weakness, and hers was her unrelenting quest for more power. I was thoroughly enjoying the story and then some of my favourite Reapers and Dragon Kings and their mates showed up and made it even better.

There were many different parts to the final confrontation, each one more exciting than the last. The nail-biting journey took us through each fight until it was all over. And the ending, I did not see that coming. I loved how everyone worked together.

What a spectacular conclusion to a truly gripping series. But it’s not completely over, thank goodness. Donna Grant’s Dark World continues with the second book in the new Skye Druids series. The Reaper series can be read on its own, but I would recommend reading the books in order. And if you have the time, go back and start at the very beginning.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
