Quickie Reviews are what it says, a short one paragraph review for those books that didn’t get a full page review.
My Darling Jane by Ilsa Madden-Mills
A sexy he-falls-first sports romance about a quarterback and his frenemy-matchmaker.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ I thought Jane was very rude to Jasper in the beginning, but their animosity soon turned into some very fun and sexy banter. Jasper was more than just an arrogant jock, as Jane discovered. These two had to deal with some very serious past and present issues, but the light-hearted, lively tone of the book tempered that somewhat without detracting from their impact. Once Jane and Jasper got out of their own way, they made magic together. Babs and the incidents in the bookstore added additional levity and laughter.

What’s a witch to do when the coven of moral and ethical standards demands she untwist a curse, but an essential spell component no longer exists? There’s only one choice: go back in time.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ I did not expect the time travel aspect. I have to admit, a part of me didn’t think they were really going to do it, but it turned out so much better than I thought it would. Rachel’s trip to the past was thrilling, nail-biting, and frustrating. I soaked up every interaction with Trent like a sponge, hoping for a bit more. It was very interesting going back in time and getting a reminder of how the characters have changed. This series just keeps on surprising me.

All I Want for Christmas by Maggie Knox
Sadie and Max agree to fake a relationship to boost their chances of winning the reality show, Starmaker. Will their fake relationship be exposed before they can win? Or will an unexpected trip to Banff spark real feelings by the Christmas finale?
⭐⭐ This was an exercise in frustration. I loved Sadie and Max when they were singing together. That chemistry was off the charts. But away from the microphone, they were a mess, and not an adorable one. Sadie and Max were very immature. Both of them kept unnecessary secrets and ran away whenever the slightest sign of trouble showed up. I was not convinced that they had properly addressed their issues on their own or together for them to last.
