Welcome to my Monday Musings. It’s been almost a month since my last weekly update, wow. I’m not going to take you back a month, we’ll just reset here to the last week and pretend that never happened. Okay?
I would like to take a moment to remember and commemorate all the brave people who were involved in and affected by the events of September 11, 2001. ❤️
School is back on and our usual routine is in full swing. Other than all of that, it was a fairly quiet week for me at home. I miss everyone. Okay, not all the time, it’s quite nice to have the house to myself.
In other more bookish news, I have cancelled my KU subscription for the moment and taken up Kobo Plus. It costs slightly less and they have a whole bunch of different books available that’s been on my list for the longest time. Between that, my ARCs, and the library, I’m panicking a bit at the extensive list of books I’ve accumulated. And I have at least three reviews that need to get done as soon as possible. I’m slowly catching up with those. I have added a new feature to my blog, the quickie reviews, and I’m having fun creating those posts. Hope you like them too.
And now on to the reading part of the post. (To find out more about the books: For mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. For PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)
DONE AND DUSTED
Obviously I made good use of my alone time at home. I posted two reviews this past week, along with four short ones. You can find the latest quickie review post here.
FOR THIS COMING WEEK
Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on.
QUOTES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE
From The Duke and the Dressmaker by Eva Devon: “If, if, if, Your Grace,” she rushed, not wishing the pain of imagining things that could not and would never be. “If only causes suffering.”
From Not My Kind of Hero by Pippa Grant: Someone please take my mouth away from me before it says something else stupid.
OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS
You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.
What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.
And that’s it. Thanks for musing with me on this beautiful Monday.

I feel the same way about school starting. I miss my kid a lot. I used to want summer to hurry up and get over when she was little. Now, I want her around.
September 11 is the first major even in my life where I’m like I remember where I was when I heard… So sad and scary.
I’m glad you liked Quinn’s book.
I have KU right now but I might look at Kobo Plus for awhile after it expires. I like the quiet time when I am home alone sometimes.
I got a 30-day free trial period on Kobo Plus, so you can also just give it a try for free.
Quickie reviews are so useful! They are one of the reasons I never fall too much behind with my reviews… I hope you will have a great week!
Thanks, you too!
I miss having my daughter around during the day, so I get what you mean. The quiet is nice, and I’m working, but …
I hope you’ve had a good week, now that it’s Friday! Anything fun planned for the weekend? I don’t have much planned, but after two busy weeks and weekends, I’m looking forward to some down time.
I have a bunch of fun things planned. I’m excited. Hope you have a great weekend too.
