Welcome to my Monday Musings. And we’re in the last week of June, past the solstice and everything. This past week was fairly quiet. I took my dog to the vet for a check up and I had some questions. Well, turns out he’s perfectly fine, just feeling the effects of getting old. He is 13 now, though you wouldn’t say it by just looking at him. He just needs to lose a bit of weight.

This is coming a bit late, but I was so shocked and sad when I heard about Julie Garwood’s passing. She is definitely one of the authors that cemented my love for romance novels years ago. The Wedding is my favourite book by her.

On Friday I went out for breakfast with my friend. The two of us have started this “tradition” of getting breakfast every couple of weeks or so. We take turns choosing a place and it has been so much fun discovering some new places with her. My family and I went for a stroll by the river on Saturday morning. It was a gorgeous day and we watched everybody play with their dogs in the water. Mine is no water dog. Friday evening we watched Dungeons & Dragons and it wasn’t the best movie ever, but it was very entertaining. We started watching Ted Lasso and Severance. I like Ted Lasso, not so sure about Severance.

And now on to the reading part of the post. (To find out more about the books: For mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. For PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)

DONE AND DUSTED

I started reading Hammered and it’s going well, I just haven’t finished it in time for this week’s weekly summary. It has been a week for rereading. I’ve reread the first two books in Jessie Mihalik’s Starlight’s Shadow series in preparation for Capture the Sun. And I reread Only Bad Options by Jennifer Estep because the second book, Only Good Enemies, is coming out in July and I wanted to refresh my memory.

I posted just one review this week.

FOR THIS COMING WEEK

Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.

What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.

And that’s it. Thanks for musing with me on this beautiful Monday.
