Welcome to my Monday Musings. Again, it’s been two weeks since my last Monday Musings post. I guess regular life just ran away with me. I did get a lot of reading done, so that’s always a win.

We were quite busy. The school year is almost done and the beginning of June was packed with all kinds of year-end activities for my Grade 10 kid. There was the last ceremonial review parade for the air cadets, we went to see the high school bands (one for each grade) in concert (they were amazing), and he received some academic awards on two different occasions. His exams are also all done early, so he is already on summer break.

Other than that I had some visits with friends, we had friends over for dinner this past weekend, and I’ve been catching up with work and trying to make a dent in my TBR. My daughter and I have also started doing yoga regularly, and I’ve been enjoying that a lot. And we bought flowers for the deck, so it feels more properly summer now.

And now on to the reading part of the post. (To find out more about the books: For mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. For PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)

DONE AND DUSTED

Quite a while ago, I read the first five books in the Chronicles of the Stone Veil series by Sawyer Bennett and these past two weeks I read the next three books in the series, which are all on Kindle Unlimited. Great series if you like magic, gods, fae and the Underworld.

I posted five reviews over the last two weeks.

FOR THIS COMING WEEK

Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on.

QUOTES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE

From Undressing the Duke by Erica Ridley: Geoffrey’s presence was like the rising of the sun and moon, or the ebb and flow of the tides. Gentle. Dangerous. Captivating.

From Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez: “I will never judge you for how you climb a tree, Jacob. And you should know that you are an exceptional fish.”

From The Captive Duke by Grace Burrowes: She gave him another of those kisses to the mouth, rose up off the bench and kept coming, a one-woman, fragrant, soft cavalry charge of pleasure and comfort.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.

What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.

And that’s it. Thanks for musing with me on this beautiful Monday.
