Welcome to another Monday Musings. It’s December and the Christmas spirit is everywhere! I love it. My tree and decorations are already up and my plans for this season are all coming together nicely.
We had a super cold week last week, the weekend was slightly better, and today it’s snowing again. I love the snow, just not the shoveling of the driveway that comes with it.
Saturday was my husband’s work Christmas party. I didn’t know anybody there, but that didn’t stop me from having a great time. I met some wonderful people and we had a lovely turkey dinner. It was great to get out again for a change and dress up a bit. And there was the Costco trip yesterday. It’s hard to resist all the beautiful seasonal items there.
And now on to the reading part of the post. (To find out more about the books: For mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. For PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)
DONE AND DUSTED
It was a quiet week and I’m way behind on reviews.
FOR THIS COMING WEEK
I’ve read Coming Home and the review is coming.
INTERESTING QUOTES
Here are some quotes that caught my eye.
From Killers of a Certain Age by Deanna Raybourn: They both shrug. “Pretty, yes.” Gilchrest admits. “Beautiful even. But she’s what we Canadians call a Winnipeg winter.” “A Winnipeg winter?” “Great natural beauty but capable of freezing your dick off if you’re stupid enough to get naked.”
Also from Killers of a Certain Age by Deanna Raybourn: “I’m telling you, my tits are like two scoops of ice cream somebody left out in the sun, just melted halfway down my chest with the cherries pointing south.”
OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS
You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.
What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.
And that’s it. Thanks for musing with me on this beautiful Monday.
Sounds like you had a fun weekend. I am not quite ready for snow though since I am working from home as I recuperate, it wouldn’t be that big a deal.
Hope you recover real soon.
I don’t think that we will decorate this year. We are feeling lazy. Of course, that could change. I loved Killers of a Certain Age and A Hard Day for a Hangover! Have a great week!
Thanks, you too.
Costco is my favorite! Enjoy the snow!
My grandson is just begging for a snowstorm. So far we have only been teased with flurries and a dusting. Looks like you had a good week. Stay warm. It’s cold here too.
Your grandson can come see our snow today. It still snowing, started last night. Not quite a storm, but definitely a lot of snow.
It was “cold” here last week and now warming up. But cold here is 50F/10C and warming up to 60/15-18C this week. I’ve read those done and dusted books. They are good ones.
I wouldn’t mind a 10C right about now. It’s -22C/-8F at the moment. The rest of the week is closer to 0C.
I loved Killers of a Certain Age and Coming home! I hope you enjoy Coming home.
Yes, I loved Coming Home, but now I’m going to re-read it so I can write my review. I completely forgot what I wanted to say about it.
Sounds like you had a fun weekend! I really like the sound of A Hard Day For A Hangover.
Yes, it’s the third book in the series and I’ve enjoyed it a lot so far.
It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! We have already had snow this year which caused chaos for the evening commute for many. I hope you have a wonderful week Rolé!
I am also loving all the Christmas Spirit, lights, decorations etc. We haven’t had snow yet, but it is coming. Have a great weekend, Rolé.
Thanks, hope you have a great weekend too.
