Welcome to another Monday Musings. It’s been two weeks again, how did that happen?

We had a wonderful Christmas potluck dinner with a whole bunch of fellow South Africans and another lunch with friends. And it was my birthday. My family and I went out for brunch, I had a glorious nap, and we had fondue for dinner. The weekdays have been busy driving the kids around and catching up with all the activities that are happening now at the end of the year.

Today is beyond cold. Right now it’s -28C/-18F with a windchill factor of -40. (This is apparently where Celsius and Fahrenheit meet.) I have to take my daughter to the doctor a little later and then go grocery shopping. I’m still psyching myself up for that trip. Looks like things might pick up a bit on the weekend.

And now on to the reading part of the post. (To find out more about the books: For mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. For PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)

DONE AND DUSTED

It was quite a mixed bag of books, but I had great fun reading them all.

FOR THIS COMING WEEK

Looking forward to my reading for this week.

INTERESTING QUOTES

Here are some quotes that caught my eye.

From The Christmas Spirit by Debbie Macomber: Pete kept his eyes closed, savoring her kiss. “Was I being inappropriate?” Millie asked. He beamed her a smile. “If so, could you be inappropriate again?”

From The Bluff by Emma St. Clair: And even though I’ve got my eyes fixed on the road before me, I’m aware of every move Winnie makes. I’m like a workhorse in need of a good pair of blinders.

From A Wicked Game by Kate Bateman: Morgan fought the urge to laugh. He’d take a slap from Harriet over a kiss from another woman any day.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.

And that’s it. Thanks for musing with me on this beautiful Monday.
