Welcome to another Monday Musings. It’s been two weeks again, how did that happen?
We had a wonderful Christmas potluck dinner with a whole bunch of fellow South Africans and another lunch with friends. And it was my birthday. My family and I went out for brunch, I had a glorious nap, and we had fondue for dinner. The weekdays have been busy driving the kids around and catching up with all the activities that are happening now at the end of the year.
Today is beyond cold. Right now it’s -28C/-18F with a windchill factor of -40. (This is apparently where Celsius and Fahrenheit meet.) I have to take my daughter to the doctor a little later and then go grocery shopping. I’m still psyching myself up for that trip. Looks like things might pick up a bit on the weekend.
And now on to the reading part of the post. (To find out more about the books: For mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. For PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)
DONE AND DUSTED
It was quite a mixed bag of books, but I had great fun reading them all.
FOR THIS COMING WEEK
Looking forward to my reading for this week.
INTERESTING QUOTES
Here are some quotes that caught my eye.
From The Christmas Spirit by Debbie Macomber: Pete kept his eyes closed, savoring her kiss. “Was I being inappropriate?” Millie asked. He beamed her a smile. “If so, could you be inappropriate again?”
From The Bluff by Emma St. Clair: And even though I’ve got my eyes fixed on the road before me, I’m aware of every move Winnie makes. I’m like a workhorse in need of a good pair of blinders.
From A Wicked Game by Kate Bateman: Morgan fought the urge to laugh. He’d take a slap from Harriet over a kiss from another woman any day.

And that’s it. Thanks for musing with me on this beautiful Monday.
I’m still reading Christmas books 🎄. The Do-Over is on my TBR for 2023. Looking forward to it.
I haven’t read a lot of Christmas books this year.
Happy belated birthday! It sounds like you’ve been enjoying some fun events and reading some great books.
Thanks!
Glad you could have a good time with family for the birthday and Christmas buffet. LOL, yes a fun variety of books you read. Hopefully you can rest soon and get ready for the new year.
Have a good week, Role’!
Thanks, hope you have a great week too.

Happy birthday! That is cold, feels like Minnesota weather. At least you had some great books. Stay warm and happy holidays!
Thank you! Happy Holidays to you too.
It sounds like you have been very busy! Happy belated birthday! I hope you are able to stay in from the cold.
Thanks! It’s slowly going to warm up over the next few days. Christmas Eve and Christmas are looking decidedly warmer so far. Hope it stays that way.
That is definitely cold, Rolé. It sounds like you are enjoying yourself as you prepare for the end of the year. Do you celebrate Christmas? There are a few books you read this past week that are on my TBR, so I am off to check out your reviews.
Yes, we celebrate Christmas. I love all the Christmas stuff, no matter how kitschy. Even all the Christmas music on the radio. And you?
I see we have several books in common Rolé! I enjoyed the interesting quotes! I hope you enjoy your latest books!
I’m enjoying them so far.
