Welcome to my Monday Musings. I am celebrating my birthday – the big five oh. Saturday evening I had a birthday dinner with a bunch of girlfriends at a restaurant and it was fabulous. And my family and I are going away for a week soon, can’t wait! This week I am stress planning for it.

And now on to the reading part of the post. (To find out more about the books: For mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. For PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)

DONE AND DUSTED

I added two new reviews in the past week, and there are new quickie reviews.

FOR THIS COMING WEEK

I am busy with The Governess and the Duke. Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on.

QUOTES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE

From The Governess and the Duke by Lydia Drake: The dowager snorted. She chewed a bite of potato with an air of restrained menace. Hard to do that with a potato.

From The Governess and the Duke by Lydia Drake: “Romance isn’t falling in love with a lie. It’s seeing the truth of a person and loving them for it, not despite it.”

From Wreck the Halls by Tessa Bailey: But it took her a moment to find her voice because it was lost somewhere among the pandemonium of her hormones, which hadn’t been this noisy since the last time they’d been together.

From The Wrong Guy by Lauren Landish: “Long story short, I was crazy for her, she was crazy for me, but we’re shit communicators and in our heads too much. We fixed that last night.”

From The Price of Lemon Cake by Jennifer Ashley: “Packs of females can have extraordinary influence, Mr. Moody,” Judith said. “And are we not made to adorn and inspire?” The words held scorn. “I have inspired the Commissioner of Scotland Yard to take a great interest in you and your doings.”

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.

And that’s it. Thanks for joining me on this Monday Musings adventure.
