I’m starting a new feature here, called Monday Musings. I’ll reflect on the week gone past and make some plans for the week to come. Your thoughts and comments are always welcome. Feel free to join in.

August is chugging along, I’m a bit flustered, because it’ll be over before I know it. And with less COVID restrictions, we are finally able to make plans with other people. I know! Whatever will we do? We’re like cave people who are at last discovering that we are not alone. Today also marks my son’s birthday. He is certainly growing like a weed. We spent Sunday morning at the mall to get cupcakes and gifts and everything else ready for his big day.

On a more somber note, my mother passed away in 2019 and at that time I was able to travel to attend her memorial service and see my dad and my sister. On Tuesday, my dad, my sister, and my aunt threw my mom’s ashes into the ocean. I’m sad to have missed it, but I live vicariously through the pictures. Love you, Mom, always.

And in case you were wondering, my blog is on WordPress and for the book lists below I’m using the WordPress Grid Gallery Plugin by WonderPlugin.

DONE AND DUSTED

For some I have a posted review on here, others I just read for fun, but still want to share with you.

Hooked By That Book: Speakeasy by Sarina Bowen
I really enjoyed it. Alec and May started out with a fun flirtation, then casual sex, while keeping it all under wraps. Great writing, interesting characters. I'm definitely reading the rest of this series.
Hooked By That Book Review for When a Duke Loves a Governess by Olivia Drake
Tessa isn't a governess, but she needs the money and she applies anyway. Guy, the Duke of Carlin, has an unruly little girl and he hires Tessa in desperation. Tessa soon worms her way into the hearts of both the Duke and his daughter.

reviews coming soon

Hooked By That Book Review for The Dating Dare by Jayci Lee
During a game of truth-or-dare, Seth dares Tara to go on four dates with him in the month left before he moves to Paris. They are not to fall in love and they have to keep it under the radar. None of that goes to plan and we end up with a very cute romantic love story.
Hooked By That Book Review for Lord of the Masquerade by Erica Ridley
Unity Thorn wants to build her own empire for a change. She finagles her way into the Duke of Lambley's life to learn the secret to his successful masquerades. And his heart?

FOR THIS COMING WEEK

I look forward to my reading list this week and I hope I can get to all of them:

Hooked By That Book Review for The Haunted Homecoming by Angie Fox
I love this series and can't wait to read the latest installment. Paranormal with a teeny bit of romance. Great characters and crazy plots. Best to read them in order.
Hooked By That Book: Devil in Disguise by Lisa Kleypas
I've enjoyed the Ravenels series so far. Looking forward to this one too. It's a great historical romance series. Probably better to read them in order.

What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.

And that’s it. Thanks for musing with me on this beautiful Monday.
