Welcome to another Monday Musings with me.

There’s not a lot to tell about this past week. My dog needs to get dental surgery done and I’ve been driving him around getting a few different quotes. It’s expensive, but the little guy needs it. This coming week I will make a decision and book his surgery for sure.

I’ve told you previously that my wall oven broke. Well, it’s still broken. We have ordered a replacement part and are waiting, impatiently, for that to arrive. Who knows when that will happen? In the meantime we have figured out how to put our outside bbq to much better use. Turns out it’s quite versatile.

On Friday it was my husband’s birthday. The big 5-0. He’s not a party kind of person, so we had a quiet celebration with cake at home and dinner for the two of us in the evening. It was absolutely lovely to dress up a bit and get out for a change. I have an amazing friend who let me take over her kitchen to bake a cake. But the cake was almost a disaster. I had made caramel from scratch to pour over it, and I was so excited about the whole thing that the caramel was still a bit too warm when I poured it. Which means the whole cake started to droop a little bit. There were Maltesers on top and the ones on the edge also started to slide down the sides. We quickly took some pictures, had a good laugh, and ate the cake. It was so good!
