Yes, you read it right, it’s Monday-ish. That’s because today is actually Wednesday, and I really wanted to do a catch-up after the Christmas break and at the start of this new year.

First of all, happy new year! I hope 2022 brings you love, happiness, and health. And lots and lots of reading time, of course.

Christmas break was absolutely lovely for my family. We drove down to Las Vegas for a few days and then we had a week in Phoenix. And we picked the right time. While our hometown enjoyed temperatures of -25ºC (that’s -13ºF), sometimes dropping as low as -30ºC (-22ºF), we escaped and enjoyed the way more balmy weather further down south.

Unfortunately, we came back to increased COVID numbers, more cold and snow, and the start of the school term has been delayed by a week. The kids are quite happy to have an extra week of vacation. On the COVID note, I’m very happy to say that my family all tested negative after our excursion to the US. Frankly, I was a bit surprised. We encountered a lot of people, especially in Las Vegas, and in many places people weren’t wearing masks. The four of us are vaccinated to the gills though, so we weren’t too worried. Just happy to have confirmation.

I’m looking forward to this year. Working on new projects, catching up with friends, and my very long to-read list. So far, I’m really looking forward to some ARCs and other new releases, such as Unforgiven by Rebecca Zanetti, Crying Wolfe by Kerrigan Byrne, How to be a Wallflower by Eloisa James, The War of Two Queens by Jennifer Armentrout, and so many more. What is on your list?

And now, onto the reading part of this post.

DONE AND DUSTED

Not all of these have a review on my blog. Reviews take time, and sometimes I just want to read a book without doing a review as well.

FOR THIS COMING WEEK

I look forward to my reading list this week and some extra ones will probably be added to the list as the week goes on.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

During the break I re-read the Rules of Scoundrels series by Sarah MacLean. This remains one of my favorites and I have read it a few times by now. I love all of Sarah MacLean’s books. You really can’t go wrong with her.

You can find more recommendations from me here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.

What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.

And that’s it. Thanks for musing with me on this beautiful Monday (uh, Wednesday).
