⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love Kat and Daniel. Kat is not the only one whose heart beats faster when he enters the room. I love that they understand each other and that they are not pushing each other for more than either is ready to give. It would be great to see them together, of course, but for them this works. In this book, there could have been a bit more intimate conversations between Kat and Daniel.

The murders and surrounding mysteries were very interesting, and I enjoyed the Chinese elements. The plot did move a bit slowly at times, and there were a lot of extra new characters.

The drama unfolding in the meantime in the household where Kat works, gave us more insight into her character and convictions. On the other hand, we didn’t learn a lot more about Daniel.

I want to give this book three starts for the slightly boring bits, but I really love the main characters and their development, so it gets four stars.

Was I hooked by this book? Yes.
