Welcome to my Weekly Wrap Up. I think my last “weekly” wrap up was a month ago. I’ve been busy with work and reading and life, trying not to stress too hard about my youngest being away at university. That has been quite the adjustment.
This year I didn’t make a big fuss over Halloween, I just didn’t feel it this time. Maybe next year. I had a close encounter with a moose earlier this week while on a walk with a friend, which was awesome and scary. We didn’t stick around to take pictures. Today, we also had our time change, which I am most certainly not a fan of. Although, I think this one is better than the spring time change.
We watched Lessons in Chemistry and I loved it. I also loved the book. And I am rewatching Ted Lasso with my daughter. It is just as awesome the second time around.
What do you enjoy most about this time of year?
And now on to the reading part of the post. (Mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)
DONE AND DUSTED
I was head down in a book a lot lately (with a lot of very late nights), so I finished quite a number of books and I posted one review. No new quickie reviews.
FOR THIS COMING WEEK
Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on.
QUOTES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE
From This Much is True by Vivienne Lorret: She was standing at the buffet in a wedge of morning light, her hair in an artless topknot with rich mahogany tendrils snaking down to rest against the side of her face. Her cheeks held a rosy glow that seemed to make her eyes brighter in their nest of dark, sooty lashes. The word beautiful would have to bow down to her because she was something infinitely more.
From Lucky by Sawyer Bennett: I open the fridge. it’s a sad graveyard of almond milk, expired salsa and half a lemon. Dinner is either popcorn or making an effort, and I am not emotionally available for effort.
OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS
You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.
What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.
And that’s it. Thanks for joining me on this Weekly Wrap Up adventure.

Love at First Sighting looks fun.
Wishing you a great reading week
Thanks, hope you have a great week too.
We also did nothing for Halloween really. I love the still nice weather, the colorful leaves and we also still have a lot of flowers blooming here in North Carolina. Our fall and spring last a long time compared to other places I’ve lived. I really enjoy the moderate temperatures they have.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Our weather is surprisingly mild for this time of year. We are in November and no snow yet (well, nothing to make note of anyway) and the temps are cold, but not as you’d expect them to be. Don’t know what that means for our winter, we’ll see.
Moose are so much bigger in person. We have encountered them a time or two when visiting national parks. So cool.
You are so right.
I loved Archangel’s Ascension! I can’t believe there will be only one more book in the series. I really enjoyed Three Mages, I did the audiobook. I’m hoping to make the book chat for that one.
I’m not a big fan of the colder weather, so I like cuddling on the couch with a cup of tea, my book, and my cats.
