Welcome to my Weekly Wrap Up. Last day of June. Time for the summer holidays to get started. Tomorrow is Canada Day, so Happy Canada Day to all my Canadian followers and friends! And I’ll add a Happy Fourth of July to all my US friends and followers for later this week.

We are leaving for a lovely long vacation this week, going to Rome, Paris, and South Africa. I can’t wait! Still stressing out crazily about getting everything ready, but we’re in good shape. On that note, I won’t be posting to my blog during that time. I’ll still be reading (much as I can) and trying to post on social media, but any reviews will have to wait until I’m back.

So, here is a quick recap of my reading for June: Total of 10 books read. A whopping 4 were five star reads, 5 were four star reads, and 1 three star. I’m going to pick Hardly a Gentleman by Eloisa James as my favourite. There were 5 contemporary romances, 3 historical novels, 1 suspense, and 1 fantasy. Four were from Netgalley, 3 from the library, 2 from Kindle Unlimited, and 1 from the author/publisher.

Hope you all have a wonderful time reading and I’ll catch up with you when I’m back.

And now on to the reading part of the post. (Mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)

DONE AND DUSTED

I posted four new reviews and no new quickie reviews.

FOR THIS COMING WEEK

Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on.

QUOTES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE

From Love and Other Conspiracies by Mallory Marlowe: The air is full of static around us, like another touch will send electricity rattling all over my body, and I want it to. He’s the best shock of my life. He has been the best shock of my life. I feel him like radioactive particles running through my blood, like I’ll never settle.

From Love and Other Conspiracies by Mallory Marlowe: By the time we reach it, my clothes are soaked, my legs weighed down by wet denim and—due to the Amazon reviews telling me these hiking boots are waterproof—I conclude that everyone is a goddamn liar. My socks are wet and death is upon me.

From Writing Mr. Wrong by Kelley Armstrong: She didn’t want revenge. She’d just wanted to sell a damn book and maybe exorcise an old ghost. The old ghost was not supposed to show up at her door in the middle of the night with his sad puppy eyes.

From Look Before You Leap by Virginia Heath: …he grabbed a bow and set about showing them how to hold it and how to prepare the arrow. Lottie could not help but admire the sublime visual sorcery that occurred in the muscles of his arms and shoulders as he aimed at the target and pulled back the taut string.
