Welcome to my Weekly Wrap Up. Oof, well, I dropped the ball on this one really well, didn’t I? It’s been a while, hello, everybody! Hope you are all doing well. We had a high school graduation, big vacation planning, and other end-of-school-year stuff happening. I read a whole bunch of books, that part didn’t really stop, but I am way behind on reviews, again, and trying to play catch up.

Like I said, we are planning a big family vacation for July and August. I’m super excited, but also super stressed. I do pretty much all the leg work for this, which I don’t mind at all, I love doing it. It just takes up a lot of time and can be quite stressful at times. It is extremely satisfying to see everything come together, though.

For this wrap up, I am going to stick to the books I read this past week or two. I have three outstanding ARC reviews and three ARCs left for June. I would love to have all of them done before we leave.

What has been happening in your neck of the woods?

And now on to the reading part of the post. (Mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)

DONE AND DUSTED

I posted one new review and no new quickie reviews. As for ARCs, I finished reading Death at a Highland Wedding by Kelley Armstrong, Hidden Nature by Nora Roberts, and He’s To Die For by Erin Dunne. Reviews will be coming soon (I hope).

FOR THIS COMING WEEK

Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on.

QUOTES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE

From The Duke’s Dream by Giovanna Siniscalchi: “It was fun,” she said, her voice brittle. “One dance. You’re a wonderful partner—for a tyrant.” Then she looked past him, toward the door. “But I don’t hear our music anymore.”

From Death at a Highland Wedding by Kelley Armstrong: “Also untrue,” McCreadie says. “Whenever poor Mallory moves or speaks, our young constable stares as if an angel has descended from on high. I would suggest she keep him entranced, like a cobra, while I investigate, but that seemed wrong.”

From Beneath the Burning Sea by Amanda Bouchet: She wiped her hands against her pants. Why were kids always so sticky? It was as if they excreted something from their fingers that made it harder for adults to let go.

From He’s To Die For by Erin Dunn: Rav is perched on the edge of his partner’s desk, tossing an apple from hand to hand. It’s not his apple. He avoids fruit wherever possible, unless you count fermented grapes.

From He’s To Die For by Erin Dunn: Weird is finding out you’re dating your ex’s ex. Rav can’t even begin to describe what this is. Is there a word for celebrity murder suspect you secretly want to unwrap like a birthday present? The Germans probably have one.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.
