Welcome to my Weekly Wrap Up. It’s been a while since my last one. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and I wish you all a Happy New Year!

First of all, my heart goes out to California and everybody who has been impacted by the wildfires, as well as all the firefighters and other support personnel.

My Christmas break was a fairly quiet but very lovely time with my family. We had the good fortune of spending time with friends as well. New Year’s Eve my husband and I went to a fancy event at a local hotel with great friends and had a blast. It’s definitely not so quick to recover the day after anymore! And January has certainly been off to a fast start. School and work is back on, as well as our usual activities. My youngest is writing final exams soon.

I watched Wicked and I enjoyed the music and the visuals a lot. We’ve also been watching season 7 of Outlander and I’m very impatiently waiting for the final episode to drop.

And now on to the reading part of the post. (Mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)

DONE AND DUSTED

I posted two new reviews and the latest quickie reviews are here.

FOR THIS COMING WEEK

Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on.

QUOTES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE

From Something Extraordinary by Alexis Hall: “Enough.” Closing the distance between them, he very gently put his gloved fingertips against her mouth. “Sometimes people know exactly what they want. Sometimes you should believe them whey they tell you.”

From The Duchess Takes a Lover by Jillian Eaton: His earlier… reactions… were likely nothing more than a random sensitivity to dust. Ambrose didn’t love his wife. He had to sneeze. And that was that.

From Christmas in Quincy by Devney Perry: I carried my suitcase across the room to the drawers and flopped it on the carpet, opening it slowly. The instant the zipper was free, the clothes inside exploded, spilling onto the carpet like they’d been holding their breath during the trip and could finally exhale.

From My December Darling by Lauren Asher: Time doesn’t fly. Instead, I feel like I’m trapped inside an hourglass, counting each individual grain of sand as the days go by excruciatingly slowly.

Once Upon a Royal Christmas by Teri Wilson: He offered Gracie his hand. She took it, stepped gingerly onto the stool and into the carriage. The dress took up every square inch of the small space. She patted it down around her. It was like watching someone trying to cram one of those exploding snakes back into a fake can of nuts.
