Welcome to my renamed Weekly Wrap Up. Lately, I’ve been struggling to get my weekly post done on a Monday, so I’ve decided to give it a new name so that I can have a bit of leeway on when I post it.
Our days were appreciably warmer this past week and a fair amount of snow melted. I had breakfast with a friend that had moved away to the States and was in town to visit her parents. This past weekend we went to a Christmas party, which is always fun, with great food and stimulating company. I managed to catch up with some ARC reviews and blog visits.
We watched The Fall Guy and I loved it so much! We also watched My Old Ass. The beginning had me wondering where this was going, but it turned into a really beautiful and emotional story.
And now on to the reading part of the post. (Mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)
DONE AND DUSTED
I posted two new reviews and the latest quickie reviews are here. And, clearly, I’ve been down a bit of a Tracy Sumner rabbit hole. Haven’t surfaced yet.
FOR THIS COMING WEEK
I started reading Passions in Death, hence the quote down here. Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on.
QUOTES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE
From Passions in Death by J.D. Robb: “Why don’t you tell me where you went, what you did after leaving the club?” “Of course, if that’s helpful. As I said, I enjoyed connecting with the women in the group, but – may I be frank?” “You can be whoever you want if you answer the questions.” That little sarcasm slid right over his golden head. – Eve Dallas at her finest.
From Tall, Dark and December by Tracy Sumner: A neat row down the center seam he could unfasten in seconds if he set his mind to it. The mechanics of attire had nothing on Weston Whitaker, future Cambridge fellow and inventor of steam-powered engines.
OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS
You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.
What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.
And that’s it. Thanks for joining me on this Weekly Wrap Up adventure.
I’m glad we haven’t had snow even though it has been plenty cold. I’m reading Blood Mosaic by Elizabeth Hunter and listening to This Could Be Us by Kennedy Ryan.
Hope you’re loving them.
I love that you are giving yourself some leeway on your posts!
I wondered about My Old Ass. Is it a comedy or more serious? I also enjoyed Fall Guy – a lot of fun.
There are some funny moments in the movie, but overall it’s more serious and more emotional towards the end.
I’m in the same boat, role. I post when I can. We has snow, but it is all melted now as well. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks, you too!
I start my post for the week when I’m going around and commenting on other Sunday posts and then just fill it in as the week goes by. But yeah, post when you feel like it! I loved Seven Year Slip, so I hope you did too!
