⭐⭐⭐⭐ Was I hooked by that book? Yes. Ana Huang captured the brewing chemistry between Josh and Jules perfectly.
BLURB
Twisted Hate, the third book in the Twisted series, sees Josh and Jules thrown together. The word “antagonistic” doesn’t even come close to describing the animosity between them. Even their friends walk on eggshells whenever the two of them are in close proximity. But all this energy needs an outlet, and one night it all boils over. They agree on an enemies-with-benefits arrangement. No need to get any friendlier than that.
MY THOUGHTS
Well, we all know that proximity leads to contempt, but it can also lead to familiarity and attraction. And in the case of Josh and Jules, they had it all in spades. Twisted Hate is my favorite in the series so far. It comes with Ana Huang’s captivating writing style and the fascinating back-and-forth between the characters that I’ve come to expect.
The original reason for their animosity is a bit flimsy. Some good old-fashioned grown-up talking could’ve averted that misunderstanding. But then we wouldn’t have the rest of the story. We see Josh and Jules learn each other and come to an understanding of what has shaped the other person. Josh’s past isn’t letting him go and he must confront Alex and his father to be able to move on. Jules has to come clean about her own spotty past and come to terms with what has happened. The two of them are absolutely fantastic together.
This series deals with some difficult issues and dark and overbearing personalities and might not be for everyone. I am looking forward to the fourth book.
