⭐⭐⭐⭐ Was I hooked by that book? Yes. It’s a delightful exploration of Sybil finding satisfaction in her own abilities and gaining confidence in her position in The Heist Club.

The unassuming Miss Sybil Stamper is just happy to be a part of The Heist Club reading circle. She dreams of attending a ball and has scrimped and saved for years to get her very own gown. When a thief strikes at the heart of the fashion world, Sybil’s love of list-making and the help of the Wynchesters are all that stands between the ladies of the ton and disaster.

MY THOUGHTS

The Modiste Mishap is a novella in the Wild Wynchesters series. It fits in between books two and three. It is not a romance, but it is still packed with the same exhilaration that the Wynchesters bring to all their escapades.

Sybil is a wonderful character, and I can completely identify with her obsession to make lists. I loved the contributions of her reading circle and the Wynchester family. The plot provides us with an intriguing crime solved in a very creative manner.

I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet interlude in the series. This entire series is well worth it if you like historical romances with fun, engaging characters and a lot of suspense. It’s not necessary to read them in order, but as usual, I think it makes more sense if you do.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
