Here are four quickie reviews of books I’ve read lately.
Bain Hillridge is new to the Titans and he’s building relationships with his new team, both on and off the ice. If only he could keep his hands off his teammate’s little sister.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bain and Keira were just wow. I loved them together, their chemistry, and the way their relationship evolved. The “grand gesture” at the end was funny and so perfect for them. The author took us on a wild ride through a whole host of emotions.

Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score
Knox likes his solitary life, until runaway bride Naomi blows into his life like a hurricane.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Knox and Naomi bowled me over right from the start. I was hooked from Naomi’s first appearance in the coffee shop to the very last sentence. The characters were well-developed and interesting and the story was captivating and exciting.

He’s Not My Type by Meghan Quinn
Halsey has had a crush on Blakely for the longest time and things seem like they might be going his way when she breaks up with her boyfriend.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Parts in this book I absolutely loved and others not so much. The best parts have got to be the text messages between the guys (including Penny). They were hilarious and I loved how they supported Halsey and wouldn’t let him wallow on his own. Halsey and Blakely had a lot of hurdles to clear in their path to happiness. The ending was super emotional and made for the perfect finish. There was some disconnect between the Halsey at the beginning and the Halsey at the end. The change was just too big. And much of the well-meaning interference from their friends felt a bit too manipulative at times. I am very happy that they found love with each other, though, don’t get me wrong.

Fall of Ruin and Wrath by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Callista catches the eye of a Hyborne prince and her protector offers the prince her services as companion (and secret spy).
⭐⭐⭐⭐ For someone who professes to hate cliffhanger endings I sure can’t seem to stay away from them. This one was a doozy and I can’t wait to see how it continues. The world-building was well done, but pales in comparison to the descriptions and interactions of the two main characters. Everything revolved around them, even though the story was told only from Lis’s point of view. Similar to some of her other series, the FMC found herself making impossible choices and in some instances, there wasn’t a choice really. I was interested in the world and the events happening, but that was definitely overshadowed by my desire to see more of Lis and Thorne together. The connection that the author created was just that strong.

I haven’t read any of these books yet but they all sound like great choices!
The Sawyer Bennett series is one I’ve heard good things about. I do enjoy her writing. I’ve never read Lucy Score, but I guess I should. Great short reviews!
Lucy Score is new to me, I was very pleasantly surprised by this book.
Great reviews! I love the sound of Things We Never Got Over, although it might be too steamy for me. xD
Thanks!
I loved the Meghan Quinn, but I can definitely understand what you’re saying! I wish I could do my “quick” reviews as neatly and succinctly as you can. Great reviews!
Thanks! Sometimes it is difficult to keep the thoughts short.
