Quickie Reviews are what it says, a short one paragraph review for those books that didn’t get a full page review.
You’ll Never Find Me by Allison Brennan
Estranged from her PI family, Margo Angelhart does what she must to get by, until a cheating husband case she’s working intersects with her siblings’ corporate espionage investigation, forcing Margo to cooperate with the Angelhart firm. Can she learn to trust her family and heal their once-close relationship before her secrets put those she loves most in danger?
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I loved the Angelhart family dynamics the most in this book. Every single one of them stands out and makes an impact and I cannot wait to read more of them and their adventures. The way the two cases intertwined was truly interesting and very well done. I was all in for this nail-biting ride and couldn’t put it down.

Brewbies by Kerrigan Byrne & Cynthia St. Aubin
Darby finds herself embroiled in a feud she never wanted with the cop who is as tight assed as his trousers suggest. But even as their animosity sizzles and the town begins to take sides, Ethan can’t seem to keep his eyes off Darby’s double D’s.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ I liked Darby for the stuffy Sheriff Townsend. She set his inner free spirit free and unleashed his passions. It was a lot of fun seeing Ethan challenged on so many levels. This was an entertaining, easy read that also covered forgiveness and reconciliation.

A surprise pregnancy leads to even more life-changing revelations in this heartfelt, slow-burn, friends-to-lovers romance of found family and unexpected love.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Everybody needs a Shep in their lives. I was very emotionally invested almost right from the start, but I do feel like the book had a stronger beginning than end. Not to say that I did not like the ending, I love how it all turned out and how Eve, Shep, and Ethan managed to make their unusual arrangement work. I found Ethan’s reactions very realistic, as well as Willa’s sad/happy responses to Eve’s pregnancy.

Simply the Best by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
A successful sports agent and the sister of his biggest client engage in a take-no-prisoners battle of the sexes.
⭐⭐⭐ This wasn’t my favourite by SEP, but I enjoyed it for the most part. I loved Rory’s job and how Brett had to reevaluate his priorities as time went on. I found Clint to be spoilt and whiny, and not attractive at all. The changing relationship between Rory and her stepmother was quite moving. This story went in quite an unexpected direction. I generally like it when the two main characters have some snarky banter, but Rory and Brett’s felt a bit too adversarial at times. It was difficult to imagine them actually liking each other, never mind falling in love.
