⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a lovely collection of five novellas that loosely connect through mutual characters. I’ll give my impressions of each book separately.
A Duke Worth Falling For by Sarah MacLean ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It was brilliant, funny, cute, romantic, and very hot. What more do you want? Sarah MacLean is definitely keeping her spot as one of my favorite authors ever.
Better with You by Sophie Jordan ⭐⭐⭐
I wasn’t as enamored with this one. Everything happened very quickly, and having just Vee’s perspective didn’t give me a good idea of who Luca really was. This would have worked better for me if the story had more time to unfold. As it was, it felt a bit cramped and rushed.
Not a Bad Boy by Louisa Edwards ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I loved the sexually charged banter between Ian and Mallory. It was really hot.
Songbird by Tessa Gratton ⭐⭐⭐
I enjoyed the writing style in this book a lot, it’s very descriptive. The author used some crude words during sex scenes, which isn’t unusual, and doesn’t bother me, but it seemed a bit out of place for me in this particular book.
Supplicant by Sierra Simone ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I found this book very emotionally intense. The feelings between Charlotte and Church are just so enormous and a bit extreme. And boy, the drama! I have to say, the relationship feels overly possessive and not all that healthy to me. But it was well-delivered and I was very invested in their story.
I’ve only read Sarah MacLean before, but I will definitely go look for the other authors’ books now. I apologize for not putting all the authors’ names in the post title, but there just isn’t enough space!
This is a great collection of stories to read if you’re a bit short on time, and don’t want to stop half-way through a chapter. Each one is a quick read, and you can get a great romance fix in, five times!
Thank you to Sarah MacLean for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Was I hooked by this book? Yes.
