Welcome to my Monday Musings. I skipped last week’s musings. Things have been a bit busy for me. I’m still volunteering at the food bank twice a week and my freelance work has suddenly picked up quite a lot. That was unexpected. I had a lot of back and forth with my sister about organizing my dad’s birthday party, which he absolutely loved, thank goodness. Some other appointments and errands, and much-needed visits with friends made up the rest of the time.

We had a boatload of snow over the weekend and just huddled inside for the most part. My Christmas tree and decorations are up and I’m loving it. This week is super cold. Today was -14ºC or 7ºF. Tomorrow looks to be the warmest of this entire week and we’re expecting another heap of snow this coming weekend.

I watched Happiness for Beginners on Netflix. Didn’t know it was a book and I quite liked it. It was so sweet and Jake was so obviously in love.

And now on to the reading part of the post. (Mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)

DONE AND DUSTED

I posted two new reviews and the latest quickie reviews are here. I also did some reading of Elizabeth Hunter’s Elemental World series.

FOR THIS COMING WEEK

Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on. I have finished reading The Mirror, my review is coming soon.

QUOTES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE

From Blonde Date by Sarina Bowen: Katie wiggled out of a pair of stockings, revealing the smallest lace panties ever manufactured. Seriously, the physics lab up on Science Hill could attempt to split them like an atom in the particle accelerator. I think I stopped breathing. My brain took a sabbatical to Tahiti.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.

What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.

And that’s it. Thanks for joining me on this Monday Musings adventure.
