Welcome to my Monday Musings.
Wow, I missed two weeks in a row. I apologize for my tardiness. There’s no excuse. I’ll have to rewind all the way back to Halloween to get this story updated.
I love Halloween. The creative decorations, the wide smiles from all the kids in their amazing costumes, and of course, all the candy! There is an inspiring spirit in people around this time of year. I love going to the stores and there is a mixture of Halloween, Thanksgiving, and early Christmas all over the place. It’s a bit like being a kid in a candy store, I don’t know where to look first. Our Halloween was a quiet affair this year. My kids are too big now for trick-or-treating and they went off in their own directions. I handed candy out with a smile on my face and some devil’s horns on my head, even though there were fewer trick-or-treaters than in the past.
Skipping forward a bit and it’s the quiet reflection of Remembrance Day. I don’t know anyone personally who have sacrificed their lives in this way, but that doesn’t make me any less grateful to the brave men and women who risk their lives every day.
This past weekend I had the wonderful privilege of visiting with a group of amazing women. We are all from South Africa and have made our new homes here in Canada. We share a language and a common past and it does wonders for the soul to reconnect with them regularly.
In the meantime we are basking in a warmer-than-usual November and definitely not excited about the snow that’s supposed to come next week.
And now, onto the reading part of this post.

DONE AND DUSTED
Not all of these have a review on my blog. Reviews take time, and sometimes I just want to read a book without doing a review as well.
FOR THIS COMING WEEK
I look forward to my reading list this week and some extra ones will probably be added to the list as the week goes on.
OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS
The Blood and Ash series by Jennifer L. Armentrout is a breathtaking new world of intrigue, betrayal, and an epic love story. Fantasy at it’s best and they are definitely meant to be read in order. Once I started, I couldn’t stop and I’m waiting not-so-patiently for the next book.
I have been rereading the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh in anticipation of the latest installment, Archangel’s Light. This is probably more paranormal, with angels, vampires, and humans co-existing in a word ruled by archangels. This series also features a love that defies all odds and inspires everyone around them. It is definitely best to read them in order.
What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.
And that’s it. Thanks for musing with me on this beautiful Monday.
You are reading some great books there. I especially enjoyed Miss Moriarty, I Presume. I haven’t been excited about freezing temps a couple nights as I still have garden food coming.

Ooh, hope you get your garden harvested before the frost kills it all.
