Welcome to my Monday Musings. On Tuesday I volunteered at an event that ran until 3am the next morning, which threw everything into a tired turmoil for the following few days. I’m definitely not as young as I used to be. It was fun though and I don’t regret going at all.
In glass blowing news, we got the paper weights that we made the previous week (see the picture here) and in the last class we learned how to blow some glass. I made an awkwardly shaped little glass goblet which I’m ridiculously excited about. Will post a picture next week of this miraculous marvel.
Today is Victoria Day here in Canada and we have been enjoying this long weekend, even though it came with some snow and lots of rain. Well, my garden certainly appreciates all the rain. We did some yard work and of course, I watched the first 4 episodes of Bridgerton. I will watch them again, probably, before the next batch comes out. In the meantime we’re watching the new Outlander episodes on Netflix.
And now on to the reading part of the post. (Mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)
DONE AND DUSTED
I added two new reviews and the latest quickie reviews are here.
FOR THIS COMING WEEK
Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on.
QUOTES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE
From Fangirl Down by Tessa Bailey:
Those lips would slide down his stomach like chocolate sauce on a scoop of ice cream.
Words were just leaving his mouth without orders from his brain. Had his fucking filter been carried down the shower drain along with the water?
OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS
You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.
What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.
And that’s it. Thanks for joining me on this Monday Musings adventure.

The glass blowing classes sound fun!
Wow, I love that you are doing glass blowing classes. I enjoyed a quiet Victoria Day weekend. Have a great week, Rolé.
Thanks, you too.
Wow! What kind of event runs that late? I hope it was successful. We have a long weekend coming up, here in the US, with next Monday. It even looks like we’ll have nice weather most of the weekend. WOO HOO!
Yeah, our May long weekend usually comes with rain and sometimes snow. Long story, but here casinos are required to give a portion of their proceeds to charitable organizations. The organizations apply to participate and every 18 months they get 2 days of casino time. They have to provide volunteers to staff a certain area of the casino. It’s not complicated or difficult at all. The proceeds over a 3 month period then gets split between all the organizations that took part. So, I volunteered for one of those shifts and in the evening it goes until the card tables at the casino closes, which is 3am. And then there are specific rules about what an organization can spend that money on.
I loved Mind Games and I’d like to read the Chloe Liese book but I want to work through the whole series.
I loved the Chloe Liese series and I think it is best to start with book 1. Hope you enjoy them.
Glass blowing sounds like fun! I hope you’re having a great week!
Thanks, you too!
Staying up until 3am would make me tired for days, too! It would be nice if it rained here, then I wouldn’t have to water so much. Loved Liar’s Point and Mind Games!
