Welcome to my Monday Musings. I have missed the last two weeks of updates and I will stick to just the books I read the past week. I also still have to put together my May recap post. Everything fell a bit behind because I was super busy with work and other life things. My youngest had plenty of year-end events going on and he is now busy writing exams for the next two weeks.
I had a glorious two days away with a group of friends with copious amounts of wine, talking, and laughing. This past weekend I went to an afternoon tea again for South African women. It’s always wonderful to see familiar faces and meet new people.
And here are my last creations from my glass blowing class. It was immensely fun.
My husband is out of town and I have been watching some Netflix without him. Mother of the Bride and Irish Wish were both on my list. They were all right.
And now on to the reading part of the post. (Mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)
DONE AND DUSTED
I added one new review and the latest quickie reviews are here.
FOR THIS COMING WEEK
Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on.
QUOTES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE
From My Season of Scandal by Julie Anne Long: “And when I said, as you taught me, Mrs. Durand, ‘Whom may I say is calling?'” Nothing made Dot feel more sophisticated than the word “whom”. Angelique, a former governess, had recently taught it to her and she might as well have given Dot a tiara.
From My Season of Scandal by Julie Anne Long: The ensuing pause was the perfect moment for him to make his bow and take his leave. Somehow the intention failed to communicate itself to his legs.
From The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren: I’d love to change but I have no idea where my robot luggage is. I assume it’s followed us of its own volition somehow.
From Blissed by Pippa Grant: Yep, that was “Itsy Bitsy Spider” in a familiar baritone. Except when Natalie learned the song, the Itsy Bitsy Spider was supposed to go up the spout again, not sit and pout in his gin.
OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS
You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.
What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.
And that’s it. Thanks for joining me on this Monday Musings adventure.

Love seeing your glass projects! I love Kelley Armstrong and I really want to read Crossroads after reading an excerpt in the author’s newsletter.
It does sound like you had a busy few weeks! In a good way! I love that you’re taking a glass blowing class! I would love to take an oil painting or pottery class at some point. I need to make it a priority! Love that you’re working your way through The Rockton series! It’s one of my favorites.
