Welcome to my Monday Musings. It has been a hot minute since my last weekly recap. Don’t know what to tell you, life just got in the way, I guess.

We are having unusually hot weather lately, which I do not appreciate at all. So I’ve mostly been hiding in my house, trying to stay as cool as I can. I have not been a complete recluse, that’s just not in me. I have met up with friends and did go out and about somewhat.

I’ll restrict my recap to the books of the past week only.

And now on to the reading part of the post. (Mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)

DONE AND DUSTED

I added five new reviews (I had some catching up to do) and there are no new quickie reviews for this week.

FOR THIS COMING WEEK

Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on.

QUOTES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE

From The Body in the Backyard by Lucy Score: Riley hadn’t been aware that Nick knew the word gauche, let alone how to pronounce it.

From The Body in the Backyard by Lucy Score: “I like to think of sarcasm as a humor tool. Words can tell the truth, but you can also have fun with them and tell the truth at the same time.”

From A Ruse of Shadows by Sherry Thomas: At quarter past two in the morning, the heat of summertime Provence had at last become gentler, like that of an oven that had baked its last loaf hours ago.

From The Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros: Every touch between us since then was measured, careful, as if we were matches in the middle of a fireworks cache, knowing too much friction would set the whole place ablaze.

From Brewbies by Kerrigan Byrne & Cynthia St. Aubin: Her eyes fell closed as she inhaled deeply, drawing the scent of Ethan out of its fibers. Damned if the sheriff wasn’t some kind of man-brosia, forever emitting a pheromone speedball that hit her hormones like a cattle prod.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.

What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.

And that’s it. Thanks for joining me on this Monday Musings adventure.
