Welcome to another Monday Musings. After a heat-wavish week of around 30ºC, today is significantly cooler with clouds and some raindrops every now and then. And before you say, oh, that’s not so bad, for us, it absolutely is. I confess, I don’t like the heat. We hid ourselves behind blinds and fans and only emerged when it cooled down in the evening, like some kind of vampire.
It was a lovely, quiet week at home. The mountains of laundry after our camping trip is now only a bad memory and everyone has settled into some kind of summer vacation routine. Oh, and my husband and I had a run-in with the fawn and mother that graced our back yard the week before. We encountered them while taking our dog for a walk and I was trying my best to stay out of their way while my husband was trying to get some pictures from a safe distance. At one point it looked like the mommy deer was going to chase me off, but we made it across the street safely and continued our walk.
Have you watched any interesting shows or movies lately? We started watching Stranger Things from the beginning with our kids and just last night we finally began with Season 4. The Umbrella Academy is also on the list and Amazing Race, Canada. That’s about the only reality show I follow.
And now on to the reading part of the post.

DONE AND DUSTED
I’m still a bit behind on my reviews, but I’ll get there.
FOR THIS COMING WEEK
I look forward to my reading list this week and some extra ones will probably be added to the list as the week goes on. I’ve already read some of these, just have to get the reviews done now.
OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS
Rebecca Zanetti has become a definite-read for me. Her Deep Ops series features an odd collection of crafty, talented men and women, and the people who fall in love with them. A definite read for any romantic suspense lover. And if paranormal suspense and ghosts are your jam, then take a look at the Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries series by Angie Fox.
You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.
What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.
And that’s it. Thanks for musing with me on this beautiful Monday.
I enjoyed the Zanetti and the Ashley book. We’re hiding out in the house with the AC most of July and August. I sometimes do stuff early morning and after dinner.
