Welcome to my Monday Musings. I skipped last week’s Monday post, so we have two weeks to catch up on. The Calgary Stampede was on again. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s worth looking it up. It’s an annual rodeo, exhibition, and festival held every July in Calgary, Canada and lasts for ten days. It typically gets over 1 million visitors over the entire duration. It’s one of the largest rodeo events in the world and offers the richest payout. Anyhoo, there are a lot of activities going on in the city during that time, including pancake breakfasts, the parade, fireworks, and lots of concerts. I went to one of those concerts with a group of girlfriends and we had a blast.

On Sunday we went floating down the river again with some friends. It was a lazy day on the water in the sun, talking about everything under the sun. I got maybe a bit too much sun, my knees are feeling the heat (and looking it). Also, we have more smoke from wildfires and between that and the sun I am feeling a bit sick today. Hopefully it’ll pass soon.

Our summer so far offers plenty of warm, sunshine days, but most afternoons we are graced with a quick thunder shower. I just love those. Only, the one we had on Saturday brought some good-sized hail as well. Luckily it didn’t last long and there was no damage.

And now on to the reading part of the post. (To find out more about the books: For mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. For PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)
