Welcome to my Monday Musings. How is January treating you so far?
Hubs is back at the office, the kids are back in school, and today it’s just me and the dog. I’m actually loving it. Though, my high school kid’s exams are starting this week, so he’ll be spending most of his time at home until the end of January. It is going to be super cold this week. Looks like winter is finally catching up. We’re looking at a high of -29ºC (-20ºF) by Friday. Brrrr…
Something is up with my newsletter, but I haven’t quite figured out what yet. So, if you have subscribed recently and you’re not receiving the newsletter, please let me know. Or sign up again. It goes out every Tuesday. Also, I had to make some changes with the way it gets sent, so I’m hoping it works seamlessly this week.
I joined The StoryGraph and you can find my profile here. Look me up and let’s be friends.
And now on to the reading part of the post. (To find out more about the books: For mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. For PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)
DONE AND DUSTED
I added three new reviews in the past week, and the new quickie reviews are here.
FOR THIS COMING WEEK
Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on.
QUOTES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE
From Wild Magic by Alexandra Ivy: He didn’t bother to reassure her. She didn’t need his sympathy. She needed someone at her back who could kick ass when necessary.
OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS
You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.
What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.
And that’s it. Thanks for joining me on this Monday Musings adventure.

First of all – That is way too cold for me! In 2022 around Christmas we had -17F windchills for a couple of days. That was enough of that for a lifetime. 🙂
I hope you have a brilliant year!
Thanks! You too.
I like the quiet time myself. My daughter starts a new session at college this week and is freaking out a bit. That’s very cold weather. I moved to avoid more of it; it was regular in Minnesota. I have to update my newsletter and I’m dreading it.
Hope your daughter has a great first week. It’s always daunting to start something new. And it’s difficult to watch your kids navigate that kind of stress. Good luck to both of you! And good luck with your newsletter updates. Mine seemed to have gone all right.
Yeah, we are getting that frigid, but maybe not quite that frigid, weather this weekend, just in time for the Chiefs game Saturday night! I just went and added you as a friend on StoryGraph! I am loving all the cool stuff you can do with it. I need to get back into the Katee Robert series, I think I’m at book 4? Oh yeah, I did get your newsletter today, so it’s working okay for me! Have a great week!
That’s good to know, thanks. I’ll go find you on StoryGraph. I just imported my Goodreads info, so I’m still fixing reading dates. Luckily it’s going fairly quickly.
Oh to have the house to myself… *sighs* I would love that. My youngest is back at high school, but my son hasn’t left for college yet. My husband works from home, but generally, he’s in his office all day. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you too!
That’s super cold. It never gets below 10 degree celsius here. I hope you have great week and enjoy next books.
Thanks and you too!
