Welcome to another Monday Musings. Happy New Year!

Wishes for 2023

This is more a look back at the last two weeks of December. It went way too fast. There was one last week of school before the break started on the 23rd, which included some final exams for my first year university student. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day was spent all by ourselves. We ate too much, opened presents, and enjoyed our quiet family time. There was a dinner with good friends that we don’t get to see often, that was special and fun and every time we get together it’s like no time has passed.

My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with a night out on the town. We had drinks, dinner, and dessert (all at different places) and stayed over at a hotel, ending with a superb breakfast the following morning. New Year’s Eve was celebrated with a big group of friends and it was probably the best way to end 2022.

And now on to the reading part of the post. (To find out more about the books: For mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. For PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)

DONE AND DUSTED

I clearly had a lot of time for reading. Almost like I had a long list of books to get through as quick as possible, right?

FOR THIS COMING WEEK

Looking forward to my reading for this week.

INTERESTING QUOTES

Here are some quotes that caught my eye.

From Wait For You by Jennifer L. Armentrout: My body knew what to do, what it wanted, even though my brain was firing off so many warnings I felt like Homeland Security during a Code Red.

From Sweep of the Blade by Ilona Andrews: “Since my wounds don’t need tending, I am seeing if I can get you to throw yourself at me.” “Already?” “A knight always rises to the occasion, my lady.”

From The Mood for Trouble by Wynter S.K.: Chase stayed up on the tabletops, and I watched in equal parts amazement and terror as she leaped from table to table like they were lily pads and she a beautiful, insane frog.

READING CHALLENGE UPDATE

I’ve signed up for the What’s in a Name 2023 Challenge. I haven’t made any progress yet, but there’s still a lot of time left in this year.
