Welcome to my Monday Musings. I missed last week, again. It was a good week, though, with warm weather that wasn’t too stifling and lots of socializing. One evening was drinks and appies on the deck with a group of friends. Another evening was a get-together for a group of alumni from the university that both myself and my husband attended in South Africa. It was actually very nice to meet some new fellow South-Africans and to talk about our shared experiences. And on the weekend we had dinner with good friends.

And now on to the reading part of the post. (Mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)

DONE AND DUSTED

I added five new reviews (some belated as I had some catching up to do, again) and the new quickie reviews are here. I also started reading Elizabeth Hunter’s Elemental Mysteries series.

FOR THIS COMING WEEK

Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on.

QUOTES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE

From A Hidden Fire by Elizabeth Hunter: Carwyn rolled his eyes. “Silly B, love is friendship. Just with less clothes, which makes it far more brilliant.”

From Ready or Not by Cara Bastone: One look at Ethan and my armadilloed heart suddenly stretches and unfurls. I realize I’m not breathing, just watching him, and I nearly choke on all the air I suck in at once. This is apparently what chemistry feels like. From ten yards away.

From Ne’er Duke Well by Alexandra Vasti: Or – no, the man had foregone smallclothes and was tugging on his trousers. Truly, what was even the point of the Venus catalog if she’d had no idea a man could wander about bare-bottomed beneath his breeches with no one any the wiser?

From The Secret Hook-Up by Pippa Grant: He lets that full smile fly, and god help me, he’s using the dimples too. I hate his dimples. They’re fucking glorious.

From The Secret Hook-Up by Pippa Grant: No, the real reason I’m lingering is because Duncan is a magnet and I’m a pile of iron flakes.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.

And that’s it. Thanks for joining me on this Monday Musings adventure.
