Welcome to my Monday Musings. The last week of March was a good one. It was spring break for my son and it was a quiet one for him. I finally got someone in to tune the piano, and had a farewell lunch with a friend who has returned to South Africa.
Folks, on Tuesday I almost lost my mind. I was looking online for some WordPress plugins that might be nice to have, but I didn’t add any to my blog. I did play around with some of the existing settings to see what there all is. The next moment, my site won’t load and I get this bizarre error message that I’ve never seen before. Down the Google rabbit hole I go and, of course, that just made me hyperventilate even more. Luckily I was able to have an online chat with an actual person and it turns out it was just the cache going haywire. I purged it and all is well again. Who knew? I’m just unbelievably relieved that it wasn’t anything serious.
Friday my husband had a procedure at the hospital. Nothing serious and he was quickly back on his feet. We also had to enroll for my daughter’s second year classes, which was a bit of a clown show. She is on the waiting list for some and I guess now we just… wait.
And now on to the reading part of the post. (To find out more about the books: For mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. For PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)
DONE AND DUSTED
It was a great reading week and I posted two reviews.
FOR THIS COMING WEEK
Looking forward to my reading for this week. Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on.
QUOTES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE
From Hottie on her Shelf by Christi Barth: “Did you have fun last night?” “That’s not the point.” Under the microscopic clarity of hindsight, the fun had not been great enough to struggle through the misery of today.
From Nevermore Bookstore by Kerrigan Byrne & Cynthia St. Aubin: Cady bit her knuckles to keep her rush of excitement from becoming the audible squeak she’d once had to blame on a smoke detector in need of a new battery.
From Hexed by Kevin Hearne: “You killed my father,” he snorted in a basso profundo rumble. “Prepare to die!” “Inigo Montoya? Is that you?”
OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS
You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.
What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.
And that’s it. Thanks for musing with me on this beautiful Monday.
I’m so glad you got your website up and running again so soon.
Yeah, me too.
You read some fun books this week. Otherwise it sounds busy. The computer stuff can be so frustrating because it is very time consuming.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Time consuming it definitely is. And it always happens at inconvenient times too. Like I just wanted to get it sorted, but I had to get dinner started at the same time.
It’s good to see you enjoyed The Bromance Book Club! I’m hoping to finally pick it up some time soon as well. Happy reading!
I’m glad you were able to get your blog up and running again. I think I would have gone crazy. That is why I am hesitant to make any changes to mine. Glad your son had a good break. I remember my son being on a wait list for courses that were mandatory for his degree, and I panicked, but he ended up getting in them all. Have a wonderful week, Rolé and enjoy your upcoming books.
Thanks! Have a wonderful Easter weekend.
You too!
I’m glad your husband’s procedure went well. And super happy you only had to deal with your cache to fix your blog! That is really scary!
Yes, it was! I was getting heart palpitations and super sweaty at one point. I had visions of having to start all over again.
