Welcome to my Monday Musings. I really should start to keep some notes about my week gone by. Feels like I can’t remember half of what happened. Clearly, it wasn’t super exciting. I had my hair done, just spruced the blond bits up again. The grow-out-my-gray process is going well. I’m happy with it. My daughter had her last class at uni last week and she is now in the midst of her finals.
The weekend was crazy busy. We removed all the old shelving from our closet, painted it, and then we did a bit of a re-design in there. There were two large bookcases in the basement that we lugged up two flights of stairs and they are now situated beautifully in the closet to add much-needed shelving. My husband put up new rods for hanging and then all the clothes had to find new places. It’s all back together now and looking rather spiffy.
Sunday we went to a model train show. What a blast. I just love looking at all the displays. I don’t care about the trains so much, but these people put an enormous amount of effort into their landscapes around the tracks. It was a lot of fun finding all the small surprising details in there and talking to the exhibitors.
And now on to the reading part of the post. (To find out more about the books: For mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. For PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)
DONE AND DUSTED
I posted two reviews. Great books, just not as many as usual.
FOR THIS COMING WEEK
Little bit the same as last week, but still excited about these books. Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on.
INTERESTING QUOTES
I have one quote this week.
From I Used to be Fun by Melanie Summers: “I was blaming you rather than realizing that I’m the one who gave up on me. I don’t know when it happened – years ago, I guess.”
OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS
You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.
What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.
And that’s it. Thanks for musing with me on this beautiful Monday.
I love model trains. My father collected them and every year at Christmas set up a platform that took up half of our living room with a village he made himself and tracks. Hope the week ahead is delightful!
That’s awesome! Hope you have a great week as well.
I have so much gray, but I’m not sure I’d look good as a blond. I dye the gray brown and then have my hairdresser add blond highlights. Nice that you’ve transitioned. It must be easier to keep up. The model trains can be so detailed. Glad to hear you had a nice time!
Mine is blond highlights added to the brown. The natural color is still growing out slowly.
Great week of reading. Yay for Model trains! But dad loves that stuff. They are so much fun. I have been wanting to read Adriana Locke though! Hope you have a great week!
It’s fun to get a project completed like the closet and have it all organized and looking good.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
We are very happy with it. I keep going in just to take a look around.
Updating the closet is so much work, but so much fun. It’s nice to feel more organized. I also enjoyed Fluke. That was a quick, fun read.
Fluke was over too quickly and now we have to wait for the next one. I’m not good at waiting.
It sounds like you’ve had a great week! Good luck to your daughter on her finals. I hope you love The Sister Effect as much as I did Rolé!
I loved The Sister Effect! I cried through half of the book.
