Darynda Jones is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment, which is mentally and physically draining, as well as expensive. In her own words, here are her reasons for doing this campaign:

1. We really want these limited collector’s hardcover editions to be extra special. We are hoping to add lots to the books, like interior illustrations, gold embossing, and sprayed edges.

2. I want to get this trilogy, a spinoff of my bestselling Charley Davidson series, to my wonderful readers who have waited so patiently for Beep and Osh’s story.

3. I wanted to create something really special for those who have stuck with me through this insane rollercoaster of a journey. I am so honored for all of the warm thoughts, prayers, cards, gifts, and words of encouragement. Thank you from the bottom of my still beating (Yay!) heart. You’ll never understand how much you all mean to me

These limited edition, exclusive collectible hardcovers, with all the pretty bells and lyrical whistles, will ONLY be offered here on Kickstarter, along with most of the swag and other fun rewards. The oh-so gorgeous covers (created by the incredible cover artist Ivy @ Beautiful Books on Etsy) will only be offered during this campaign. Please note that the e-books, paperbacks, audiobooks, and possibly a traditional hardcover, will be available later through your favorite online vendor, though they will have different covers and none of the gorgeous bells and whistles.
