Welcome to my Monday Musings. My glass blowing class is now all done. I met up with my friend who did the class with me, and we watched Bridgerton while drinking wine from the glasses we had made. It was one wonderful afternoon, I tell you. Other than that, my youngest have made it through most of his exams by now, there’s only one left, and then summer break starts in earnest.

Since the sun rises so early and the weather is turning summery, I have been out walking more in the early morning with my dog. My route includes a wicked set of stairs and I aim to be able to get up those stairs without sounding like I’m having a heart attack.

Genevieve Graham is an amazing historical fiction author, but she also used to be my neighbor a long time ago. I’m super excited to go to her book signing here in Calgary this week.

And now on to the reading part of the post. (Mobile users – tap on the image of the book cover. PC users – just hover the mouse over the cover.)

DONE AND DUSTED

I added two new reviews and the latest quickie reviews are here. I have also started to do a reread of Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter series. And I read Bride by Ali Hazelwood for the second time, still amazing.

FOR THIS COMING WEEK

Some more will inevitably be added as the week goes on. I’ve actually finished reading Sterling, and my review will be coming this week.

QUOTES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE

From Sterling by Dannika Dark: As we sat quietly, I noticed Justus had changed into a tight black shirt. I wondered if he bought it a size small intentionally to attract women, or if the fabric had simply shrunk in fear of him.

From Sugared by Pippa Grant: A meteor attack wouldn’t have been unappreciated right about now. She was probably in over head. And her hair too. And she had a lot of hair to be in over.

From Sugared by Pippa Grant: Sweet swizzle sticks, she was the worst person in the world to seduce anybody. Especially the Josh Juan. The Joshanova. The Snack Cake Romeo.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

You can find more recommendations here. Is there anything you’d like to recommend? I’m always open to new authors and new books.

What are you reading? Let me know in the comments below.

And that’s it. Thanks for joining me on this Monday Musings adventure.
